Hibiscus flowers have been used for thousands of years as a medicinal plant. There is evidence that this plant was used extensively by the ancient Egyptians.

Studies now prove to us why these ancient cultures kept this gorgeous flower in their medicine chests…Hibiscus is a powerful anti-oxidant, lowers cholesterol and blood pressure and can help to hydrate your body. In fact, one study showed it had an amazing ability to normalize stage 1 hypertension with just 2 cups per day!

During the summer months Hibiscus is such a good friend as the enticing bright pink tea pairs extremely well with lime and a little sunshine.

In the following recipe we also add a bit of sea salt to help usher the water into your cells for an amazing hydrating effect.

We hope you enjoy sipping this during the hot summer months as much as we do.

Bonus: Loved by kids too!
