We use an FDA approved device called SkinPen for all of our microneedling treatments.
SkinPen treatment works by activating the skin’s natural healing process. The microneedles penetrate the skin’s surface which creates tiny holes in the skin. This triggers an inflammatory response which in turn activates blood flow and initiates creation of new cells. These new cells are rich in collagen and elastin which improve the elasticity, thickness and youth of the skin.
PLATELET RICH PLASMA
Microneedling can be a stand-alone treatment or can be combined with platelet rich plasma. Platelet rich plasma is a storage house of growth factors that stimulate tissue regeneration and cell reproduction. Because platelet rich plasma is from the patient’s own blood (via a simple blood draw) it is safe and highly individualized to YOU!
When microneedling is combined with platelet rich plasma, the plasma is applied to the skin before and after the microneedling treatment. The application before the treatment allows the plasma to penetrate the layers of the skin and increase the remodeling and regeneration of the skin.
In conjunction with microneedling, platelet rich plasma effectively treats acne or surgical scars, wrinkles, fine lines, uneven skin texture, irregularities and stretch marks.
We recommend 4-6 treatments spaced 1 month apart with 1-2 maintenance sessions every 6-12 months thereafter.
We do not recommend microneedling for patient’s who are pregnant or breastfeeding, have hepatitis C, HIV, blood cancers, or skin cancer on the treatment area. Additionall, microneedling should not be performed on areas with active acne, wounds or infections or patients who have used Accutane in the preceding 6 months.

Before Treatment
-Your provider will gently cleanse your skin. Topical anesthesia may be administered to assure maximum comfort during treatment.
During Treatment
-SkinPen creates millions of controlled microchannels in the skin. This jumpstarts the production of collagen and elastin and encourages the release of growth factors that recruit and increase reparative cells. The result is a cascade of healing processes that can continue for months following your treatment.
-The SkinPen treatment lasts approx. 30 minutes. Depending on whether anesthetic is used prior to treatment, your entire treatment session mat last up to one hour - still plenty of time to schedule your treatment before work or during your lunch hour. Be sure to speak with your provider before you come to get an accurate estimate, so you know how to plan your visit.After your treatment
-Your skin may initially appear slightly pink to red similar to a mild sunburn. This is normal and should subside within 24 to 72 hours.
-Some people see rejuvenated skin after just one treatment, and results may continue to improve for three to six months following your last treatment.
